Applications of Post Tensioned Design

Post-tensioned concrete can easily be adapted to accommodate complex geometry and special design challenges necessary to meet all the needs of modern architecture. For example, spans of up to 15m are common in standard PT slabs – allowing larger column-free spaces in buildings. Post Tensioned Concrete has become the most widely used Construction Material for today’s Bridges and a growing number of Residential, Commercial and Public Buildings.  Typical applications include Apartment Buildings, Commercial Malls, Retail Centres, Hospitals, Parkings, Warehouses, etc.  Post-tensioned Structures are durable and require little maintenance because the compressive forces that are applied to the structure during pre-stressing result in better crack and deflection / vibration control.
